Supervision

I have a significant online supervision practice, and offer clinical supervision to psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors who have an interest in developing a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic understanding of their clinical work.  I supervise online using Zoom.

 

My approach is to offer a psycho-dynamic understanding to add to your formulation and see if that opens up ways of working, or clarifies an impasse or difficulty, whilst respecting your own clinical approach.  In this way, I can either supervise to develop your on-model psychodynamic technique, or we can take the new formulation back into your own technical repertoire, whether that is CBT, Schema, EMDR, etc. 

 

I have a special interest in working with clinical or counselling psychologists who want to develop an interest in psychodynamic thinking.  I am also a training supervisor for M58 (Tavistock) and the BpF PPA trainings in psychotherapy.  I am pleased to supervise both beginners and more experienced therapists. 

 

As part of my supervision role, I am also available for role consultation, training and career planning, including setting up a private practice.

I also have a background in family therapy, mindfulness, and secondary care mental health, which I can contribute.

For reference, I am a Chartered Psychologist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (34909), and a registrant Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (PYL17549).  I am a Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and a registrant of the British Psychoanalytic Council (17145).
